Our region is in a heart-health crisis. Louisiana has one of the lowest scores for cardiovascular health in the country, ranking 42nd in the nation for cardiovascular health in America’s Health Rankings® by the United Health Foundation. More than 10% of Louisiana’s population is diagnosed with some form of heart disease each year. According to reports from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), we have the fifth highest rate of heart disease-related deaths of all the states in the U.S.

While lifestyle factors (such as smoking, obesity, diet and lack of exercise) are big influences on heart health, access to care is another key factor when it comes to improving health outcomes. In addition to offering the highest level of care, leading-edge technology and procedures, the healthcare providers at Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists are also dedicated to providing accessibility to our region.

There are several ways that our team works to bring better access to heart healthcare to our communities.

Rural Visits

Our physicians travel to rural clinics to see patients, ensuring that patients located in rural areas can receive expert heart care.

Outpatient Treatment

We have an on-site outpatient heart and vascular center providing high-quality care outside of the traditional hospital setting. A joint venture with CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System, the Advanced Heart and Vascular Center is designed for low-risk patients to receive outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic care. We offer a range of cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures that do not require an overnight stay. They are performed in a state-of-the-art, outpatient cardiac catheterization lab.

On-Site Heart Failure Clinic

The Heart Failure Clinic at Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists offers comprehensive management for patients with congestive heart failure. This includes a team of nurses dedicated to providing highly personalized therapies and treatment plans for each patient’s needs.

Access To Leading Specialists

Through our partnership with Baylor College of Medicine, an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist visits our clinic once or twice each month to treat patients with advanced heart failure. This is the only service of its kind available in the area, allowing patients to receive care locally instead of having to travel to Dallas or beyond for similar care.

We believe that the best healthcare outcomes are achieved when patients have convenient access to the most advanced cardiovascular care. To find out more about the regional services we offer or to make an appointment, call (318) 798-9400.
