Connection, encouragement and hope are all necessary when it comes to the heart failure journey. At Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists, patients have found a supportive community while sharing experiences with others who have been through similar challenges. Heart failure is not a walk to take alone. It is a journey of faith, hope and community.
Wayne, Transplant Patient:
Charles, Ron, Bobby, all of them had heart situations. We all met through ACS, and they wanted us to kind of just hopefully get to meet one another where we can encourage them. It means a lot when you’re going through that, but you run across somebody that’s been through it and see how well they’re doing. We talk on the phone. We meet up at a certain location some morning, have breakfast together, and just laugh and talk and encourage one another. It’s really a good thing.
Charles, Transplant Patient:
Wayne and I keep in touch constantly. We call each other all the time. The support that we get from each other is encouragement that we did the right thing. Even though we had our fears, and we discuss those things. Dealing with Wayne and our little gathering, it gives us a chance to really express ourselves openly because we all know what we went through. We already all know exactly what we went through.
