WHAT IS CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION?
A cardiac catheterization, or a heart cath, is a procedure used to evaluate heart function and identify potential problems with the heart or arteries. During the procedure, a narrow tube called a catheter is inserted into a blood vessel in the groin or arm. Once inserted, the catheter can be used to identify blockages or other problems through X-rays of the vessels and chambers of the heart.
OUTPATIENT EXPERIENCE
The outpatient experience provided at Advanced Heart and Vascular Center is designed for low-risk patients to receive diagnostic and therapeutic care outside of the traditional hospital setting. Procedures performed in the Advanced Heart and Vascular Center do not require an overnight stay.
Our Team
The lab is fully staffed with a dedicated nursing team to care for patients throughout their visit. Only doctors from Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists perform procedures in the lab.
