ACS Q&A – Meet Dr. Osman: Tell Us About Your Background

My name is Mohammed Osman, and I am one of the interventional cardiologists at Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists.

Before joining Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists, I worked for the Mayo Clinic Health System where I helped build the endovascular and vascular service line in Southwest Wisconsin.

I began my medical training journey in 2011 after graduating from medical school. I completed my residency in internal medicine at Michigan State University before pursuing additional training in cardiology at West Virginia University.

During my cardiology training, I developed a strong interest in treating patients with heart attacks and coronary artery disease. That led me to complete further training in interventional cardiology at Oregon Health and Science University.

While completing my interventional cardiology fellowship, I also developed a special interest in treating patients with vascular disease, including varicose veins, peripheral arterial disease and nonhealing ulcers. To further specialize in these conditions, I completed an additional year of training at Yale University where I focused on the diagnosis and treatment of vascular disease.
