What Is Radial Artery Catheterization?

Radial artery catheterization is a technique that has been used for quite some time, but it has become much more common in the United States over the past several years.

Using the radial artery allows patients to get up and move around sooner after the procedure, be discharged earlier, and experience much less bleeding at the catheter’s insertion site.

It is a more streamlined, patient-friendly approach overall. We have found that patients report higher satisfaction with the radial approach compared with the traditional femoral approach.
