At Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists, the focus is on patient understanding. Our team offers hope and reassurance during a life-changing diagnosis. Many patients facing a heart failure diagnosis have shared that (while the news can be frightening) the support they receive from their physician and care team emphasizes that there is still hope beyond the fear.
Kevin, LVAD Patient:
The nurses and the doctors, the medical team: That stands out the most because they saved my life, you know. Without them, I wouldn’t be here. They call me all the time and say, ‘Hey, Kevin. How are you doing? This is Kellie or this is Elizabeth.’ That gives me a good sense of like, hey, a family sense of feeling, you know, like these people really care about me.
Wayne, Transplant Patient:
Even the treatment I got when I was in the hospital here at ACS, everybody was just so nice. Dr. Jimmy, he would really just take time out, you know, with a chart to show me, you know, exactly how the heart really operates and what was going on with my heart.
Britney, Patient’s Family:
Very patient with us, answered any questions we had. They called to check on us, reassure us everything was going to be okay.
Kevin:
Being able to know I was going to live and still be around for my kids and my grandchildren and my wife … I was very frightened at first. Well, I was frightened through the whole ordeal actually.
Charles, Transplant Patient:
I was afraid, but don’t be afraid. Don’t be scared to ask. Don’t be scared to go. Once you get there, you’ll find out maybe it’s not as bad as it seems. They made it possible for me to live with it. You know, I can’t say enough about ACS.
