A native of Panama, Enrique Jimenez, MD, RPVI, FACC, FSCAI, received his Medical Degree from the University of Panama School of Medicine in 1993. Following graduation, Dr. Jimenez completed both his internship (1998) and residency (2000) at the University of Chicago at Weiss Memorial Hospital. After his residency, he completed a Cardiology fellowship at LSU-Shreveport in 2004, then an Interventional Cardiology fellowship at Geisinger Medical Center (Pennsylvania) in 2009.
Dr. Jimenez is Board-certified in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Echocardiography and Nuclear Cardiology, and he is a Registered Physician in Vascular Interpretation. He is also a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. Dr. Jimenez is fluent in English and Spanish, and he specializes in diagnostic, invasive and interventional cardiology, as well as peripheral vascular disease.
Dr. Jimenez previously served at Overton Brooks VAMC in Shreveport, where he developed a Transradial Angiography and Intervention program. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer and listening to Salsa and Merengue music. He is married to Megan Jimenez and they have a daughter, Sofia, as well as a daughter on the way.
